HACHIROKU Privacy Policy

Our Approach

HACHIROKU (the “App”) is local-first: your plant records stay on your own device. Records are never sent to a server, and no account is required. You are always in control of your own data.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data on your device:

  • Plant names and registration details
  • Observation logs (text)
  • Repotting records (pot size, soil, date, notes, etc.)
  • Photos you add
  • Location and tag information

This data is stored on your device only; the App does not send it to a server.

If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and notify you.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect or obtain any of the following:

  • Personally identifying information such as your name, address, or phone number
  • Email address, password, or account information
  • Location data (GPS)
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA / AAID)
  • Device identifiers
  • Browsing or usage tracking data
  • Social media account information

3. Access to Your Photos

To add photos to a plant or take a comparison shot, the App may request access to your photo library or camera.

  • Access is requested through the OS’s standard permission system
  • Only the photos you choose are saved with your records in the App
  • Photo data is not sent to a server

4. No Data Sent to Third Parties

The App does not use any of the following:

  • Advertising SDKs
  • Analytics or behavioral tracking tools
  • Crash reporting sent to external services
  • Server-based data sync

If we introduce analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and notify you.

5. Backup Feature

The App offers a CSV export feature, as well as backup and restore features for your records and photos.

A backup file contains the records and photos stored in the App.

  • Storing and managing exported files is your own responsibility
  • Since these files contain your records and photos, please be careful about where you save them
  • If you choose to share a backup file with anyone else, that is your own decision
  • The backup and restore format may change with future App updates

6. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised as the App’s features change or relevant laws are amended. If there is a material change, we will provide notice within the App or on our website.
