HACHIROKU Terms of Use

Introduction

HACHIROKU (the “App”) is a plant log app for recording photos, observations, and repottings of your plants. By installing or using the App, you agree to the terms below.

1. About the App

The App is designed to keep your plant records on your own device. No account is required, and we do not send your data to a server.

2. Acceptable Use

The App is intended for personal plant-record keeping. Please refrain from the following:

• Using the App for any unlawful purpose or against public order
• Unauthorized access or interference with the App or its systems
• Reverse engineering or modifying the App for improper purposes
• Using the App in a way that infringes the rights of others

3. Data Storage

Any records you enter in the App are stored only on your device.

Your data may be lost in cases such as:

• Device damage, malfunction, or loss
• Deleting the App
• OS updates or a factory reset
• A failed data transfer when switching devices

We are not responsible for data loss arising from the above. Please use the backup feature and keep your own copies of records that matter to you.

4. Backup and Restore

The App includes a CSV export feature, as well as backup and restore features for your records and photos.

You can use an exported backup file to restore your records and photos to the App. We do not guarantee a complete restoration.

• Please keep exported files on your device or your own cloud storage
• We recommend backing up your data regularly
• A restore operation may overwrite your existing records
• We recommend backing up your current data before performing a restore
• The export format may change with App updates, and restoring a backup into a different App version may not carry over all data
• Importing into apps other than HACHIROKU is not supported

5. Disclaimer

We are not responsible for the following:

• Damages arising from your use, or inability to use, the App
• Issues caused by data loss, device trouble, or OS changes
• Data loss caused by a corrupted backup file, a restore operation, or version differences
• Effects on the App caused by changes to app store policies
• Issues caused by your network environment or other conditions on your end

This disclaimer does not apply where it is not permitted by law.

6. Changes to or Discontinuation of the Service

The features and specifications of the App may change without notice. Please also note the following:

• Features may be added, changed, or removed
• Some features may become paid in the future
• The App may be discontinued

If we decide to discontinue the App, we will provide notice in advance where possible.

7. Intellectual Property

The copyright and related rights in the App (including its design, code, logo, and text) belong to the developer.

The rights to the plant records, photos, and text you enter into the App belong to you. We do not collect, transmit, or use this data on our servers.

8. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be revised as the App is updated or the service changes. If there is a material change, we will provide notice within the App or on our website.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court as the court of first instance.
